Wave 50 in Gears of War 3 Horde

While playing Horde for countless nights in Gears of War 2 there was only one time my team and I beat wave 50 without dying in any of the waves. We did it on Day One. Now that I’ve been playing Gears of War 3 Horde 2.0 we have already made it to wave 50 in just a few nights of playing. This definitely seems easier than GOW2 Horde. However, we have not beat all 50 waves without dying yet. We made it to wave 50 on Sandbar by taking the topmost base and fortifying the base on the left and right as much as possible. One or two people play from the “overlook” bouncing from left to right to help out the teammates below fighting in more close quarters combat. We also purchased the base towards the bunker/cave spawn. This seems like a pretty solid map for being able to beat all 50 waves of horde.

How do I beat a beserker?

The beserker is one of the toughest enemies I’ve run into while playing gears of war 3. If you find yourself fighting a beserker you’ll notice that bullets don’t really seem to do much. Beserkers normally come out on the “Boss” waves which are 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. To beat a beserker you need a flame thrower. Hitting a beserker with flame will greatly reduce its mobility and reduce its defenses. When hitting it with a flame thrower your teammates may be able to shoot at it at the same time with their regular weapons. Slow it down with a flame thrower and fill it full of bullets and you should be able to beat it without too much trouble.

You’ll also notice a pattern with the beserker. It will square its shoulders to you and will run at you (and run through small obstacles). Make sure you jump to the side when it squares up with you and starts to charge. The beserker has pretty poor eyesight (which you’ll notice if you use it in Beast Mode). Staying back may improve your chances of not being seen by the beserker as well.

GEARS OF WAR 3!

Gears of War 3 is set to come out in April of 2011!  That means I have less than a year to beat all 50 waves of horde (without restarting!).  I’m tired of the random punks that I play with that all say they have beaten all 50 waves of horde in a public match without restarting.  No you haven’t.  I’ve checked.
